Sport Psychology and Optimal Performance-
Sport Psychology is the study and application of how psychological factors affect athletic performance and how participation in competition affects your psychological and physical well being.  There is an emphasis on the training of psychological skills for optimal performance.  The goal is for the athlete as well as their coaches, managers and travel companions to understand how to prepare properly for competition.  This often includes imagery, visualizing, goal setting, self-talk rituals, arousal regulation, and problem solving strategies.  We’ve all heard athletes talk about “taking it one swing at a time” or “staying in the moment” at OPS Psychology we can teach you these skills and a whole lot more.
